Welcome

Welcome to 7th grade TAG Life Science and 7th grade TAG Social Studies.

Seventh grade science consists of a full year study of life science. Students will use science skills to explore life science by participating in a variety of activities that encourage them to: experiment, make observations and predictions, collect, organize and analyze data, communicate ideas, and utilize science process skills to understand the components of living organisms.

In Social Studies this year, we will travel to the Middle East, Africa, and Asia!  On our journey around the world, we will focus on geography, environment, culture, history, government, and economics.

TAG Differentiation includes but is not limited to…

●Faster pacing with enrichment and extension of units studied

●Use of advance research methods and independent study skills

●Fostering creative thinking and problem solving skills

●Generation of original ideas and products

●Development of higher order and critical thinking skills

●Advanced means of written and oral communication

I look forward to a great year of teaching and learning!

I am excited to begin my sixth year at Elkins Pointe!  Before coming to Elkins Pointe, I taught high school Honors Chemistry and Honors Physical Science at Memorial Day School in Savannah, Georgia.  I grew up in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from South Effingham High School.  After high school, I moved to Athens to attend the greatest college on Earth...the University of Georgia!!  GO DAWGS!!  While at the University of Georgia, I became a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and was active in many campus organizations.  In 2007, I earned a Master of Education degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southern University.  I am currently certified in middle grades science, social studies, math, and gifted education.  I am currently enrolled in the Education Specialist program at Valdosta State University.  I am scheduled to graduate with my Education Specialist degree in Exemplary Teaching and Learning in May of 2012.

In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, exercising, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  I have one child, Coco, my tea-cup Chihuahua.
